Plywood sheets are typically manufactured by gluing several wood veneers together. The veneers are manufactured from logs of wood by a process known as 'Peeling'. You therefore will find every commercial plywood made from different species of veneer. The veneer species varies with geographical location. ​ Though Commercial plywood sheets are made from different veneer species, the basic properties of commercial plywood remain the same.  The only difference is its manufacturing process or treatment which vary from each manufacturing unit and secondly the adhesive used to glue veneers. Usually Urea formaldehyde or Melamine Urea Formaldehyde is used as adhesive to glue veneers.

Particle board is cheaper, denser and more uniform than conventional wood. The advantages of using particleboard are that it is more stable and much cheaper to buy compared to conventional wood.
