Kerala Urban Development Society (Regn.No.ER.76/09), a charitable society registered under the The Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955 is initiating a fund raiser in memory of its founding member and first and only woman Mayor of Cochin Late. Prof. Mercy Williams who died of Cancer on 19th November, 2014. KUDS have identified few areas for charity which are:
Cancer detection and treatment for the less fortunate
Urban solutions:
Housing for poor: architectural design and supervision, supply of building materails including cement at low cost and Non profit Construction company for reducing construction cost.
Providing Kerala urban development plans & solutions to Government agencies
City beautification schemes
Child welfare and higher education support to children from low income families
Promotion of sports and sports persons eg. Basket ball, Volley ball etc..
Seed funding/ seed stage venture investments, IPR protection (Including Worldwide PCT patent drafting & filing service) for innovative ideas and inventions by students or persons with lower income
KUDS is formed and managed by professionals from diverse fields like Social service, business, law, finance, architecture, urban planning, public policy research etc..
We request all Corporates, Social Investors, NRI's, all generous and kind hearted individuals including Non Resident Keralites, to support this cause and provide their donations or sponsorships.
